Health benefits of beets

Health boosting delicious beets (Beta vulgaris) are very low in calories, with no cholesterol, the second largest source of sugar content of all vegetables, after sugar cane, unique source of phytonutrients, that you may not be getting elsewhere, full of fiber and packed with powerful antioxidants. This powerfood, a good source of vitamins and minerals should be on your plate every day. Vitamin B and iron from beets are especially good for a pregnant women’s.

You can safely eat beet roots a few times a week and they are going to help you with: high blood pressure, inflammations, blood flow, diabetes, heart disease, dementia, digestion, eye health, constipation, mental health and hormones.

Eat beetroot soup to fight iron deficiency anemia

2 cups beet, grated finely
2 cups water
1 teaspoon ginger, grated
1 onion
1 clove of garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
Put the beets, garlic and onion into water, season with the salt and pepper and let it on heat to boil for about 20 minutes. When cooked, remove onion and garlic and add the ginger. Use it daily to fight iron deficiency.
